Exploration

It is monday, like any other monday, but not really.  It feels like the first monday I have had off where the sun is out in forever.  I am doing my darnedest not to be in the shadowy apartment and so am outside absorbing the sun's rays like a drunken solar panel.  My goal is to find a recipe to make for you Burra.  Smitten Kitchen was an awesome blog for anyone's food spank bank.  It really made me want to get into this wonderful arena known as a kitchen.  If only I could find it...

But damn it's hard getting into something new.  the ingredients and rules, Burra, they are endless!  Then I think about making fresh pasta in Italy while drinking a nice Rioja and I get inspired.  By Italy I mean the gas station backyard we have.  It seems like a good way to spend a saturday together.

I found a retardedly simple recipe that would not impress a starving African, but damn am I going to give it my all for you.  Hopefully from here I will work my way up to rice and other more technical dishes.  The possibilities are endless if I put my mind to it (or order it from Seb and pretend it is my own creation).

I guess, like, if you want to

I guess it was inevitable. Even with bacon, you can only do so much when it is cold, raining, and the biggest cultural event around is the newspaper. But you know, you gotta look on the positive side. I have learned this while cross country running with Burro. It's all about attitude, man!

And tequila. But that is a story for another day.

Yes, we seem to have fallen into the depths of routine. Maybe we should get a dog? Is this how people end up having children? Simply for the chaos?

Don't tell Burro, but sometimes when I am alone in the apartment, I blast shitty techno music and dance around like a crazy person. That helps, a little. Plus, my repertoire of killer dance moves is growing and my sprinkler/shopping cart combo is epic.

Baconize that sh*t

Life can sometimes fell sluggish, grey.  Even in a perfect couple (that's you Bura) it can creep towards the nightmarish mediocrity I dread.  It is incrementally worse in a small town such as we live- there is only so much walks, making le love and crosswords you can do.  But I think Bura and I have found the solution:

Now give it a chance.  Let the caloric juiciness of the fat soak into your subconscious. Bacon.  It cures everything.  Read this carefully: the trick to alleviating the doldrums is baconizing EVERYTHING.  You are tired and just want to chill in front of It is Always Sunny in Philadelphia with some crappy pasta- add bacon.  The show will actually be funnier (technically not possible, I know).  Your significant other is getting up early to go to that shit job that always ''accidentally'' forgets to pay her and you want to whip her up a coffee and scrambled eggs- add bacon.  Not only will it make the scrambled eggs the best scrambled eggs, but your s.o. will probs pay you back with sexual favors (yes I consider long hugs a sexual favor).  Want to go for a badass walk to get some fresh air- pack bacon and everything will smell better.

Go forth and baconize.  I'm out.

*Sigh*

Things I love in my life right now: going to see the Avett Brothers in show with Bura, holding Bura in my arms at aforementioned Avett Brothers show, eating at La Boucan with Burra before Avett Brothers show, basically anything with burra, ever.

Sigh, I want to die how puppy dog she makes me.
