It is common practice to ask your partner's father for his daughter's hand in marriage. I feel it is only fair to continue certain practices in my humble life. Therefore,
El Bura I am hereby asking for your permission to marry your Egg Salad recipe. I would be true to it forever, love and hold it close to me (perhaps a little too close) for as long as breath crosses my lips.
Think about it

The Current State of Affairs
Spring is here, although winter is still occasionally poking
its chilly fingers into everyone’s business. I haven’t put away my winter coat
yet because I fear the worst – the springtime snow/hail storm.
I am totally, utterly, broke. These bank account statements
feel somewhat reminiscent of a more despondent age of alcohol-induced spending
and too many late night zataars. But not to fear! I do have a job, which I
love, although I worry that I am currently working (un)voluntarily. I am
considering collection agency interference if the balance in my bank account
does not change on Thursday.
But on to the most important part: Burro and I went CLIMBING!
Oh, what a wonderful feeling. And the sounds: the clink of gear against your
legs, the ragged hiss of the rope chafing against a poorly threaded bolt
(sorry, sorry), the tinkling of a little spring stream merrily finding its way
down to flatter ground. I am certainly no audio connoisseur, but the acoustics in
that canyon were stellar.
Plus, there were no bugs. Have I told you, Burro, that I am a
bug magnet? Likely due to my sweet-flavored temperament in the mornings.
So, all-in-all, I am perfectly and contentedly happy with the
current state of affairs.

Funny
Funny how a simple breakfast with Burra can make me so happy. Sharing eggs and crossword clues is all I need to be the happiest donkey on Earth.

Meta4's and 5's
The kitchen is a wonderful microcosm of my life when Burra leaves.
When she is here:
When she is here:
But when she is gone, the light in my life disappears:

A post about freaking out
Like when your sanity is unsteadily teetering on the edge of a phone call that never comes.
Like when you're sitting by yourself, and you suddenly and ridiculously forget all of the wonderful gifts you have in your life.
Like when you drive back to your parents house, embarrassingly crying the whole way, and wallowing in your own self-pity.
Like when you see a raccoon eating another dead raccoon on the side of the road. No joke.
Only to realize you just needed someone to talk to. Someone to carry the bags for a little bit, while you catch you breath, stretch your muscles, and take a drink of water. It always feels lighter when you put it back on.
EB, I am the luckiest girl in the world to have you as the peanut butter in my PB+J sandwich. See you tomorrow.

So Lonely
She leaves for one night, this is all I see. He seems so down without his partner siddled up against him.
Just like me.
Just like me.
