A Post About Science Fiction Novels

Burro, currently AKA Muffin, alias Lover, and I have been indulging our inner nerds. Isaac Asimov, George R.R. Martin and Philip Pullman have all been center stage lately, or rather, center couch. There's something about a good Fantasy/Sci-Fi novel that satisfies the soul in the same way say, a delicious steamed pork bun from Satay Brothers would. Undefinable satisfaction. In any case, a good yarn is a good yarn, as they say. Do they say?

I have been confined to the couch, and thus the interweb, for the past couple of days. Barfy Cute is one of my bookmarks, and I nostalgically clicked on it and started reading through our posts. What a trip! What a project! What a total lack of follow-through on our parts. What a shame, thought I.
And then... why not post today?
So here we are. I suspect Burro might be less enthusiastic due to his current employment. And I will probably post less than someone who hates cereal (post? Post Cereal? No?), but still. But still.

We have some news. I have made a list (obvi):
- Burro and Burra are getting hitched!
- Burra and Burro are moving to Montreal!
- Burra is pregnant!

Just joking.

- Burra might need glasses (jury's still out).
- Burro might be catching the cold that Burra brought home
- Burro is going to Spain, and Burra is running a summer camp this summer
- Burra is worried about September's employment situation, but true to her word, is remaining positive
- Burra is positive
- Burro is out cycling and Burra might be jealous
- It has just occurred to Burra that maybe the reason BC never continued was because Burro was the last to post... was it Burra's turn?
- Also, coincidentally, Burra was out cycling during the last post. Maybe this is/was a Seldon Crisis? (ref. Isaac Asimov, 'Foundation')
- Burra has a new nickname: Shiny Spoon, or, for shortsies, Spoon.
- The unfortunate acronym is S.S. But we don't talk about that.

Burra out, it's nap time for the Spoon.

Waiting

I'm sitting in the Korbstead's backyard. A drink in my hand and sun on my face. Hobie is pacing up the path and down the path, while Ginger frolics placidly at my feet eating whips of grass.

I'm home early from work and waiting for beautiful Burra. She is nowhere to be found, but I have an inkling she is out cycling.

Certainly I should be miffed or perhaps even upset, but I know, in my heart of hearts, that Burra is enjoying great company while exploring a new world of pedaling and its undeniable joy. This notion fuels the fire of my love for you Burra. Knowing you are delving into a world of passion we can share excites me to no end. Appreciate the wind at your back and embrace the pain in your legs, because that is what proves we are alive. And in love.

I just wanted you to know my train of thought as I enjoy this wondrous Sunday afternoon.

Te Amo mi amore. I'll see you shortly.

Please ask your father how quickly and how close to 'free' he could do this for us.

And this,

Do you think they will let me use a sextant to get us across Gros Morne?

Is there a reason she is on the ocean?
